About Us

You will join a workplace with about 30 colleagues in culture and education.

Our overarching mission is to promote cultural development within the region. This is primarily done through the Cultural Cooperation Model, a national model that regions in Sweden participate in, which co-finances regional cultural activities such as museums, music institutions, and art promotion work together with the state. You will have your closest colleagues within Art in Blekinge and the region's art collection.

The Job

The position is scheduled during daytime hours, Monday to Friday, but evening or weekend work may occur depending on the content of the tasks.

The work involves overall responsibility for developing the operations in line with the goals of the regional cultural plan for Blekinge. You will work to promote art development in the region in close collaboration with colleagues within Art in Blekinge, as well as contribute to the development and management of the region's art collection.

Your tasks will include planning, contacting, and coordinating lectures, conferences, and residency activities. The role requires a good ability to express oneself well in both speech and writing, especially in texts related to art and artistic processes.

We expect you to actively monitor the external environment, take initiative, and drive development work forward. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues and requires an engaged, independent, and collaborative working style.

About You

We are looking for someone with a higher education degree in the field of art and culture and who holds a driver's license.

It is advantageous if you have work experience and a broad network within the visual arts and design field. We also prefer that you have experience working with digital systems, such as web publishing and creating presentations.

As a person, you are flexible and have good collaboration skills. You are relationship-building and have an easy time establishing and maintaining professional contacts. You have strong verbal communication skills and can express yourself clearly and confidently. Additionally, you possess pedagogical insight and can adapt your communication to different target groups and contexts.

The organization of Region Blekinge is divided into six areas of responsibility, one of which is regional development. Here, resources are gathered with the responsibility to promote sustainable development, culture, education, and collective travel. The area has the strategic responsibility for implementing the regional development mission and works, among other things, to create attractive living environments and an expanding business community with good competence supply to create the best conditions for more people to live, work, and develop in Blekinge.
